It's New Year's Eve!!!

It's hard to believe that it's the end of 2012. Time flies so fast.
The ball drop might be different this year from last year, though.
Oh well. I hope 2014 will have a better ball drop.

It's Christmas!!! Yay!!!

The wait for the most wonderful time of the year is finally over! Merry Christmas!
I won't write or post much today since all my Christmas jokes and funny pictures were up yesterday.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve! It's raining outside our house.
Yes. That is actually how I wake up in Christmas. I'm usually happy, yet unaware that it's the most wonderful time of the year, and that I have to rush to the living room to see how big the pile of presents is like every other kid in America. I have that short of an attention span or something, I guess.

Enough of my ramblings on how my mornings usually are. This time of the year is usually the time of a lot of parties, and parties come with mistletoe, except for my house, I think.
This time of year is also a time of family traditions, like opening one present before bed. My favorite, however, is tracking down the holly jolly man in the red suit, the Easter bunny. I'm just kidding. I mean Santa Claus. Or was it Sandy Claws?
I hope your day isn't as gloomy as mine, and Merry Christmas Eve!

Happy first day of winter!!!

I can't believe the year is almost over. With Christmas right around the corner, nothing can be more exciting than-- oh. Wait. Sorry, guys. There will be no Christmas gifts this year. It's the end of the world.
Sorry, but that's just the way it is. The Mayans a long time ago said today would be the end of the world, or something like that.
I'm just kidding. I don't believe that. If it really was the end of the world, it wouldn't look like this.
This next picture also proves my point.
Yeah. Wait. What was the topic, again? Oh well. I hope that the final days of 2012 will be awesome!

Random thoughts. Gotta love 'em.

Before I went to sleep last night, I had this idea for a drawing. I forgot all about it until I went on the computer and it came back to me. Anyways, enough rambling. Here it is.
While we are on the subject on random thoughts, here is a little bit of a Japanese history lesson.
Many years ago, the Japanese believed that there were evil fox spirits, and the only thing they could not say was "Moshi moshi" which is nowadays the first thing you say when you talk on the phone in Japan.
With background knowledge out of the way, here's an older picture.
What the girl says is "Moshi moshi?"
Okay .One more older picture on random thoughts. This one is self-explanatory.

Happy Thanksgiving!

That's right! It's Thanksgiving, a day with a big parade, a dog show, and lots of food! And when I say food, I mean LOTS of food! It's also a time of giving thanks for what you have.
However, tomorrow, the concept of Thanksgiving will be thrown out the window. Maybe even literally.
Oh well. Until then, happy Thanksgiving!

Who wants some wood jokes?

It's the time of year to have warm fires again. I know this 'cause I had to help bring wood inside twice this week. I'm not complaining, 'cause I love late fall and the entire season of winter. You just have to be careful so you don't drop wood on your toes, trip 'cause of hill if you live on top of one, or have your pun-minded friend assume you're making a pun when you're trying to explain to your younger sibling why some pieces of wood would roll down a hill, and others wouldn't.

Happy Halloween!

Ahh, halloween. A time of candy, costumes, and candy. What better way to celebrate than with a manga cat-girl in a pirate costume?

This picture has a bit of an interesting story behind it. I was playing a game, and I was a bit frustrated 'cause I was dying all the time. I kept saying "nyar" or "nyarr" or something. The next day, I started laughing, 'cause it sounded like something a Japanese pirate kitty would say. That word became an interesting halloween costume.

Cooking time!

Remember the last post, when I said that I couldn't think of ideas? Well, after I published, I thought of one, and it's about cooking.
Right now, it's the time of year when I would help make dinner more often. Last year, I drew two pictures related to it, and so far, this year, I drew one.

These two were from last year.

And this one is from this year.

Dragons! ... What?

I'm running out of ideas. I'll probably think of something for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, though.
Anyways, enough rambling. Let's put a seemingly non-humorous picture up.

You're probably thinking, "Why is this not funny? It's just a dragon looking at the moon." Well, one, that moon looks either very big, or very close to Earth. That's strange. What's even stranger is that I had the song "Stand by me" in my head. And if you haven't listened to that song, go listen to it! Some of the lyrics are kind of fitting for this picture.
Oh, yeah! Baby showers!!!

Old pic. Yeah...

Baseball and boredom

I had this idea last night to draw and paint about baseball and boredom, and I did just that.

I had ideas for the above two before I thought about making this blog post.

This was basically in my head when I thought about making baseball pictures for a blog post. Speaking of boredom...

I couldn't help it. It's also kinda fitting since it was storming after I drew all the pictures. Because of that, I had to wait a while.

Happy fall!

Happy fall, everyone! No! Literally!

I bet Humpty Dumpty will have a great time!

I have a disease. It's called artist block.

I have been having trouble thinking of topics to draw about lately. For the past two days, even if it has nothing to do with this blog, I normally draw the sketch. However, when I'm in the middle of the black lines, I start thinking, "Nah." Then I close the program. This picture is the only exception, and it explains how I'm feeling right now.

Avatar... the last airbender???

This is the character I have been using as a profile picture for as long as I can remember. It has a little story to it as well, other than it's my character.
I was drawing this character one day a super long time ago, and my dad saw it. He told me that I should use it as my avatar.
During and before that time, I always thought of the Nickelodeon TV Show "Avatar: The Last Airbender" whenever I heard the word avatar. I never watched an episode before, although I think I watched a little bit of the spin-off or something called the Legend of Korra, but that was it. Nowadays, I don't really think of it as often as I used to.
Either way, it stuck with me since, and I still use this character as my avatar.

Magical cowgirls in space... What?

I had this idea for a while, now. What if a collage of different famous artists on YouTube (Mark Crilley, CartoonLoon, Marydoodles, etc.) got together to make this BIG DVD and book set of how to draw all sorts of different styles of art, different media (Including digital), and different genres of comics/manga. That way one could learn how to draw cowgirls, how to draw astronauts, how to draw magical girls, how to draw using watercolors, or how to draw magical cowgirls in space... with watercolors!

Yeah... I can totally see it now...

Dreams and events and pictures! Oh my!

Dreams can be amazing. They make the impossible possible, and they can either be the most amazing thing you've ever experienced, or the last thing you want to see.

Here's what I mean. Imagine this: a giant game that could be described as a collage of different genres, characters, and franchises. There's Link (from Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker), Vince and different enemies from his game (Voodoo Vince), Maleficent (from Sleeping Beauty), Sonic the Hedgehog, and his friends and enemies from the games, Mario from Paper Mario, flying turtles, giant T-rex skeletons, giants made of boulders, chasing levels, levels where you're being chased after, levels at night as well as sunsets and daytime, vines and platforms you can climb on, and haunted private yachts to explore. The circumstances can make you scared, but it will make you scared that you might not make it to the next level. It's hard, but it doesn't frustrate you to no end. It's fun overall with loads of hours of gameplay, and you can't let go of the controller.
Sounds like fun, huh? It also sounds like a dream come true, doesn't it? In a way, it would be a dream come true, 'cause at some point and time in my life, I dreamed of different aspects of this game at night and maybe other unfamiliar things in the same dreams. I also dreamed of a virtual reality MagiQuest and a MagiQuest-like Pokemon game, both of which would be awesome, but those are different games I dreamed of.

Why am I talking about dreams when this is about drawing amd humor?  To put it simply, dreams make great inspiration of art.

This one is old, but it is a good example. In the dream, I saw something on TV which scared me to death. What I saw was lots of lightning bolts and explosions near a house with its own garden. I dreamed of storms sort of like it (One time, the abnormal storm was called a gorilla, and I'm not even scared of monkeys 'til I actually see one in real life and get a tad nervous.)
This one is newer than the other one. What happened in this dream was I was doing something in the dining room, and I hear my younger sister and brother watching the third season of Princess Tutu. Then out of the blue I saw the first volume of Mermaid Melody. While my younger sister was reading it, I went to watch the first episode of the third season of Princess Tutu. Those that watched Princess Tutu all the way are probably asking, "What third season? There were only two." Remember when I said dreams make the impossible possible? This is a perfect example of that statement without it being the obvious flying without help (like airplanes or wings).
This one is the newest one I drew (And by new, I mean today.). What happened in this dream was a jumbled mess. In no particular order, someone stole my blue truck and took it to Mexico. It was my job to get it back.(I don't even have a truck, much less a blue one.) My younger sister and I were swinging side by side, and the swings somehow turned to a rollercoaster. (Making the impossible possible again.) And I was trying to catch a Pokemon in MagiQuest. (Wait... What?) In the actual dream, I was trying to catch a Sawk, a fighting-type Pokemon in Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, but when I tried to draw a Sawk, it didn't turn out so well, so I drew a dragon instead.

Now before I end this post I want to talk about an event going on Facebook called "Haven's Art Gallery". I have some traditional pictures on there up for auction. To explain this art-related event, I will copy and paste the description:

First post. Hurrahs and stuff.

This is my first blog. That being said, this is also my first blog post. What this blog will be about will mostly be drawings (Maybe even sketches), inspirations, and having a good time laughing our heads off in the process, 'cause let's face it. Life is too short to be serious 24/7. To start off with a bang (Or a thud from someone knocked out), I drew a simple sketch for this occasion.
